Mitred elbow, cone to cone, angled: flat patterns
A reducing elbow in two pieces at whatever angle the run needs: one taper from the base to the small end, bent where the centre lines meet. Both cones meet at a flat cut and are developed flat, the seams together on the inside or on opposite sides.
A cone turned into a second cone of the same taper at any angle, at one flat joint; the patterns are the two cones.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the first cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Small end (d): Across the second cone's small end, smaller than the base.
- Height to the axes (H): From the base up the first cone's centre line to where the second's meets it.
- Reach of the second cone (L): Along the second cone's centre line, from where it meets the first's to the small end.
- Angle between the cones (A): Between the two cones' centre lines where they meet, more than 0° and less than 180° (90°: square; more: a gentler turn).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
