Rectangle to oblique cone, level branch: cone pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners runs level into an oblique cone, whose top sits off the base's centre, as on a rectangular take-off from an offset hopper. The cone is developed flat with the exact hole the duct cuts in it.
A rectangular duct running level into an oblique cone (its top off the base's centre); the pattern is the cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the duct (negative: towards it).
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from above; the hole is cut to the duct as given.
- Duct height (Hr): The duct from its bottom to its top.
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen end on (0: sharp).
- Duct height (Hb): From the base to the duct's centre line.
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line to the side of the line through the cone's centres (0: on it).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
