Rectangle to oblique cone, upright branch: duct pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners stands upright on an oblique cone, whose top sits off the base's centre, as on a vent or outlet on an offset hopper or hood. The duct is developed flat, its end cut to the cone, its corners at their true length.
A rectangular duct standing upright on an oblique cone (its top off the base's centre); the pattern is the duct.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base; the duct is cut to fit the cone as given.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, as given.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the duct (negative: towards it).
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from the front (out from the cone's centre), on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Duct depth (B): Across the duct the other way (along Z), on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen end on, on the surface chosen under Sheet (0: sharp).
- Duct position (Xb): From the base's centre out to the duct's centre line, seen from the front.
- Duct top height (L): From the cone's base up to the duct's open top.
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line to the side of the line through the cone's centres (0: on it).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
