Rectangle to pipe at an angle: duct pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners meets a round trunk at an angle, on its centre line or off it, as on a sloping rectangular take-off from a round main. The duct is developed flat, its end cut to the curve of the trunk, its corners at their true length.
A rectangular duct at an angle to a round trunk, on its centre line or off it; the pattern is the duct.
Sizes you enter
- Trunk diameter (Dt): Across the trunk; the duct is cut to fit it as given.
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from above, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Duct height (Hr): The duct from its bottom to its top, square to its centre line, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen end on, on the surface chosen under Sheet (0: sharp).
- Duct length (L): Along the duct's centre line, from where it meets the trunk's to the duct's open end.
- Angle (A): Between the duct's centre line and the trunk's below it (90: level).
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line off the trunk's (0: on centre).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
