Cone to cone branch: branch cone pattern
A conical branch runs level into a conical trunk on its centre line, widening towards it, as on a reducing take-off from a hopper or hood. The branch cone is developed flat, from its small end to the exact curve where it meets the trunk.
A cone branch running level into a cone, on its centre line, opening towards it; the pattern is the branch cone.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the trunk cone's base, on the surface it is drawn to.
- Top diameter (d): Across the trunk cone's top, on the surface it is drawn to.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Branch height (Hb): From the base to the branch's centre line.
- Branch end diameter (Db): Across the branch cone's small end, the end away from the trunk, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Branch end distance (Ls): From the trunk's centre line to the branch cone's small end.
- Branch cone angle (A): The whole angle between the branch cone's sides, opening towards the trunk.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
