Helical flight flat pattern (triangulated spiral ramp)
For flights that are pressed to shape rather than stretched, such as spiral chutes, helical ramps and heavy screw flights. Each turn is one sheet, developed by triangulation and pressed along the radial lines.
A flight wound round a pipe at a steady pitch; one sheet a turn, laid out by triangles and pressed along the radial lines.
Sizes you enter
- Outside diameter (D): Across the flight, outer edge to outer edge (mean surface).
- Flight width (W): From the outer edge in to the pipe, square to the axis.
- Pitch (P): Rise in one full turn.
- Overall height (H): Total rise of the flight; one sheet for each turn.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
