Angled helical flight flat pattern
A triangulated helical flight whose outer edge is raised by a set amount, so the surface is coned rather than flat across. Used for screws and ramps that need to hold material towards the shaft.
A flight wound round a pipe with its outer edge raised, so it stands at an angle; one sheet a turn, laid out by triangles.
Sizes you enter
- Pipe diameter (d): Across the pipe the flight is wound on (mean surface).
- Flight width (W): From the pipe out to the flight edge, square to the axis.
- Edge rise (R): How much higher the outer edge sits than the inner edge at the same angle.
- Pitch (P): Rise in one full turn.
- Overall height (H): Total rise of the flight (inner edge); one sheet for each turn.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
