Privacy policy
Unfoldo (unfoldo.com) is run by CADMD SOFTWARE LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we”). This page says what we collect when you use Unfoldo, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions or requests: support@unfoldo.com.
Using Unfoldo without an account
When you enter sizes, they are sent to our server, which works out the pattern and sends it back. We do not store the sizes or the patterns, except the sizes of the files you download while signed in (below). We count which shape pages are opened and from which country, and which files were asked for, to know which shapes are used; nothing in that count identifies you, and no cookie is set for it. To see where people stop (for example at an error message), a page also notes a few steps: that a size was changed, an error the sizes gave, that a download was pressed, that sign-in was started, and the site you came from (its name only). These steps share a random number that lives only in the open tab and is gone when you close or reload it; nothing is stored in your browser for this. If you sign in from that tab, its steps are kept with your account. Steps are kept 12 months. Your browser keeps a few settings for you (your unit, the shapes you visited last, the tips you closed); they stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
Signing in
You can sign in with your Google account, or with a 6-digit code we email to you. With Google, Google tells us your email address, your name and a Google account number; we ask for nothing else (no contacts, no files, no access to your Google account). With a code, we keep a scrambled form of the code (not the code) for 4 minutes, and, to stop the codes being misused, a count of the codes asked for by each address and each network (both scrambled) for an hour. We keep:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, name, Google account number, when you joined and last signed in | Your account | Until you ask us to delete the account |
| Your sessions: when they started and were last used, the country the request came from, your browser’s name and version | Keeping you signed in; at most two devices per account; spotting an account shared or taken over | 12 months |
| Downloads: which shape and file type, the sizes you entered for it, and when | Your history (to open a part again with the same sizes); spotting misuse (for example an account downloading for many people) | 12 months |
| Visits: when you used Unfoldo and for how long (your browser tells us once a minute while a page is in view), the last page open and the shape pages you opened | Your account; knowing which shapes are used, to improve them; spotting misuse | 12 months |
| What your account may open (plan, modules or shapes), until when, and a note on why when we give it | Your plan | Until you ask us to delete the account |
| Shapes you mark as favourites | Your account page | Until you remove them or delete the account |
If you are in a team, its admins see your name and email address, your role, how many devices you are signed in on, when you were last active and how many parts you worked on in the last 30 days; they can sign you out of your devices and take you out of the team. When an admin invites you, we email you the invite with their name.
We use these only to run Unfoldo and keep it fair. We do not sell them, do not use them for advertising, and do not share them except with the services below. Files you download may carry a hidden mark that links them to your account, so that a file passed on can be traced.
Writing to us
When you send a message from the site (Help and feedback), we keep the message, your email address and, if you leave the box ticked, the shape and sizes on the page and the page's address, together with the Unfoldo version, the kind of browser (for example "Chrome on Windows"), the screen size and the language. We use them only to answer you and to fix what went wrong. We email you a receipt and our answers. Messages are kept 24 months after the last one, and deleted with your account. After a download you can say whether the file was right; that answer is kept with the shape and the version for 12 months.
Cookies
We use only the cookies Unfoldo needs to work; none are for advertising or tracking across sites.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| uf_s | Keeps you signed in | 30 days, renewed while you use the site |
| uf_d | Tells your devices apart (for the two-device limit) | 2 years |
| uf_o | Checks that a Google sign-in was started on this site | 10 minutes |
Services we use
- Cloudflare hosts Unfoldo and its database, and protects it from attacks. It handles every request, including your IP address.
- Google handles sign-in with Google accounts.
- Brevo sends our emails (sign-in codes and account notices); it receives your email address and the email.
- Stripe handles payments; purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s reseller, which collects the payment, works out the sales tax or VAT and sends receipts. They receive what you enter on the payment page (name, email, billing address, card). We never see your card number; we keep the plan you bought, its seats, its period and the Stripe customer and subscription numbers, until you ask us to delete the account (and as long as tax law requires for the payments themselves).
Your rights
You can see your history, favourites and devices on your account page, and delete your account and everything linked to it there. You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it: write to support@unfoldo.com from the email address of your account. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, Türkiye or California) you may have further rights under your local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell signed-in users about any change that matters.
