Flat pattern of a cone with its base cut at an angle
A truncated cone whose base is cut by a plane at an angle, like a hopper set on a sloping roof or a reducer meeting an inclined duct. The top stays a true arc; the base edge is worked out generator by generator, with the seam where the part is shortest.
A truncated cone with its base cut by a plane at an angle, rising from the far side toward the seam.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): At the base: the level where the cut meets the far side. On the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): The square top, on the same surface.
- Height (H): From the base up to the top.
- Base cut angle (γ): Angle of the cut at the base, seen from the front. It rises from the far side of the base toward the seam. 0 = base square to the axis.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
