Flat pattern of a cone cut at an angle
A right cone with its top cut off by a plane tilted to the base, as a hopper meeting a sloping wall or a cone mitred onto a pipe. The base is a true arc; the cut edge is worked out generator by generator from the cone and the plane.
A right cone with its top cut off by a plane at an angle to the base.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): On the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Cone angle (A): The whole angle between the two sides, seen from the front, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Cut height (H): Where the top cut crosses the cone's axis, measured up from the base.
- Cut angle (β): Angle between the top cut and the base, seen from the front. 0 = cut square to the axis. The seam is at the low side.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
