Flat pattern of a cone cut by two planes
A right cone with its top cut by two planes that meet in a ridge, like a cone set under a pitched roof. The ridge can stand off the axis and the two cuts can have different angles. The cut edge is worked out generator by generator, with a press line where the ridge meets the cone.

Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): On the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Apex height (Ha): From the base to the point where the sides meet, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Ridge height (H): Where the two cuts meet, measured up from the base.
- Ridge offset (X): From the axis to the ridge, seen from the front: + toward the seam (left), − away from it. 0 = on the axis.
- Left cut angle (β1): The cut on the seam side (left in the front view), falling from the ridge: its angle to the base.
- Right cut angle (β2): The cut on the far side (right), falling from the ridge: its angle to the base.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
