Cone to oblique cone, angled branch: oblique cone pattern
A conical branch rises at an angle out of an oblique cone, its top set off the base’s centre, widening towards it, as on a lateral reducing outlet from an offset hopper. The oblique cone is developed flat with the exact hole the branch cone cuts in it.
A cone branch rising at an angle out of an oblique cone (its top off the base's centre), widening towards it; the pattern is the oblique cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the branch (negative: towards it).
- Branch height (Hb): From the base to where the branch's centre line meets the cone's axis.
- Branch end diameter (Db): Across the branch cone's small end, the end away from the cone; the hole is cut to the branch as given.
- Branch end distance (Ls): Along the branch's centre line, from where it meets the cone's axis to the branch cone's small end.
- Branch cone angle (A): The whole angle between the branch cone's sides, opening towards the oblique cone.
- Branch angle (B): The branch's centre line above the level: 0 is level, more rises outwards.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
