Cone to oblique cone, upright branch: oblique cone pattern
A tapered branch stands upright on the sloping side of an oblique cone, as on a hood or offset hopper with a reducing outlet on top. The oblique cone is developed flat with the exact hole the branch cuts in it.
A tapered branch standing upright (square to the base) on an oblique cone; the pattern is the oblique cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the branch (negative: towards it).
- Branch base diameter (Db): Across the branch at the base's level (where its sides, carried down, reach it); the hole is cut to the branch as given.
- Branch top diameter (db): Across the branch's open top.
- Branch top height (Ht): From the base to the branch's open top.
- Branch position (Xb): From the base's centre out to the branch's centre line, on the side the top leans away from.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
