Cone to oblique cone: tapered upright branch pattern
A tapered branch, itself a cone, standing upright on an eccentric cone, typical of hood and hopper outlets. The pattern is the tapered branch, its lower end shaped to the cone it sits on.
A tapered round branch standing upright (square to the base) on an oblique cone, such as an outlet on a hood; the pattern is the branch.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface it is drawn to.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface it is drawn to.
- Height (H): From the cone's base to its top.
- Top offset (X): The cone's top centre from its base's, seen from above: away from the branch (negative: towards it). Half the difference of the diameters puts the far side upright.
- Branch base diameter (Db): Across the branch at the level of the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Branch top diameter (db): Across the branch's open top, on the surface chosen under Sheet. Equal to the base diameter for a straight branch.
- Branch top (Ht): From the cone's base up to the branch's open top.
- Branch position (Xb): From the cone's base centre out to the branch's centre line, on the side the top leans away from.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
