Cone to oblique cone, level branch: oblique cone pattern
A conical branch runs level into an oblique cone, its top set off the base’s centre, widening towards it, as on a reducing side outlet from an offset hopper. The oblique cone is developed flat with the exact hole the branch cone cuts in it.
A cone branch running level into an oblique cone (its top off the base's centre), widening towards it; the pattern is the oblique cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the branch (negative: towards it).
- Branch height (Hb): From the base to the branch's centre line.
- Branch end diameter (Db): Across the branch cone's small end, the end away from the cone; the hole is cut to the branch as given.
- Branch end distance (Ls): From the cone's axis, at the branch's height (the axis leans with the top's offset), to the branch cone's small end.
- Branch cone angle (A): The whole angle between the branch cone's sides, opening towards the oblique cone.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
