Rectangle to cone, angled branch: duct pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners rises into a cone at an angle, on its centre line or off it, as an inclined take-off from a hopper or a conical hood. The duct is developed flat, its end cut to the cone, its corners at their true length.
A rectangular duct rising at an angle into a cone, on its centre line or off it; the pattern is the duct.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base; the duct is cut to fit the cone as given.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, as given.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from above, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Duct height (Hr): The duct square to its centre line, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen end on, on the surface chosen under Sheet (0: sharp).
- Duct height up the cone (Hb): From the base to where the duct's centre line meets the cone's.
- Duct angle (A): The duct's centre line above the level, rising outwards (0 = level).
- Duct length (L): Along the duct's centre line, from where it meets the cone's to its open end.
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line to the side of the cone's (0: on it).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
