Rectangle to cone, upright branch: cone pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners stands upright on a cone's slope, off its centre line, as on a vent or outlet on a hopper or a conical hood. The cone is developed flat with the exact hole the duct cuts in it.
A rectangular duct standing upright on a cone, off its centre line; the pattern is the cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from the front (along X); the hole is cut to the duct as given.
- Duct depth (B): Across the duct the other way, seen from the side (along Z).
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen from above (0: sharp).
- Duct position (X): From the cone's centre line out to the duct's, seen from the front.
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line to the side (0: on the line through the cone's).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
