Rectangle to cone, upright branch: duct pattern
A rectangular duct with rounded corners stands upright on a cone's slope, off its centre line, as a vent or outlet on a hopper or a conical hood. The duct is developed flat, its lower edge cut to fit the cone, with a press line at every bend.
A rectangular duct standing upright on a cone, off its centre line; the pattern is the duct.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base; the duct is cut to fit the cone as given.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, as given.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Duct width (W): Across the duct, seen from the front (along X), on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Duct depth (B): Across the duct the other way (along Z), on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Corner radius (r): The duct's corners, seen from above, on the surface chosen under Sheet (0: sharp).
- Duct position (X): From the cone's centre line out to the duct's, seen from the front.
- Offset (Z): Seen from above: the duct's centre line to the side (0: on the line through the cone's).
- Duct top height (L): From the cone's base up to the duct's open top.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
