Mitred elbow, pipe to pipe, double, offset two ways: flat patterns
When the pipe has to move across and back at once, give both plan offsets: the elbow lies in the plane through the two pipes, its true offset √(X² + Y²). All three pipes are developed flat, the seams alternating so the patterns nest, or in one line.
Two mitre joints setting a pipe over two ways at once (a rolled offset), sized on the centre line; the patterns are the three pipes.
Sizes you enter
- Diameter (D): Across the pipes, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- First pipe (L1): From the first pipe's open end along its centre line to the first joint.
- Rise (H): Along the run, from the first joint to the second (on the centre line).
- Offset across (X): Seen from above: how far the last pipe's centre is set over one way.
- Offset back (Y): Seen from above: how far it is set over the other way, square to X.
- Last pipe (L2): From the second joint along the last pipe's centre line to its open end.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
