Mitred elbow, pipe to pipe, radius and angle: flat patterns
When the run is set out on a centre-line radius, give the radius and the bend angle: each pipe runs R·tan(A/2) from the joint to where it meets the radius. Both pipes are developed flat, the seams on the same side or staggered so the patterns nest.
Two pipes meeting at one mitre joint, set out from the centre-line radius and the bend angle; the patterns are both pipes.
Sizes you enter
- Diameter (D): Across the pipes, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Centre-line radius (R): From the bend centre to where each pipe's centre line ends; more than half the diameter.
- Bend angle (A): How far the run turns, more than 0° and less than 180° (90°: a square elbow).
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
