Pipe to oblique cone: cone pattern for an upright branch
A round pipe standing vertically on an eccentric cone, such as an outlet on an offset hood. The cone is developed flat with the hole for the branch.
A round branch standing upright (square to the base) on an oblique cone, anywhere on it; the pattern is the cone with its hole.
Sizes you enter
- Base diameter (D): Across the cone's base, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Top diameter (d): Across the cone's top, on the surface chosen under Sheet.
- Height (H): From the base to the top.
- Top offset (X): The top's centre from the base's, seen from above: away from the branch's side (negative: towards it).
- Branch diameter (Db): Across the branch: the hole is cut to this size.
- Branch position (Xb): From the base's centre out to the branch's centre line, on the side the top leans away from.
- Offset (Z): The branch's centre line to the side (0 = straight out from the base's centre), seen from above.
What you get
The exact flat pattern of the part, worked out for the sheet thickness measured on the inside, the mean or the outside, with numbered press lines, the part in 3D, its weight and cutting length, and a DXF for laser, plasma or waterjet cutting (STEP as well).
